One in each pane of the viewer's screen. FTP File Transfer Protocol. A way to send and receive files over the Internet. Home Page The main or initial document seen by visitors to your web site. There can be many other web pages connected to your home page. HTML HyperText Markup Language. The language that is used to define and describe the page layout of documents displayed in a browser. Internet The global network of networks that enables some or all of the following: exchange of email messages, files, newsgroups, and web pages. Link A word, picture, or other area of a web page that users can click on to move to another spot in the page or to a new page. Navigator Netscape Navigator. A web browser developed by Netscape Communications and available for free download. TCP/IP Transfer Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. A system of networks used to communicate with each other over the Internet. Telnet An Internet service that enables users to log on to a remote system and work on it as though they were directly working on the computer on site. URL Uniform Resource Locator.
